Scott W. Anderson

Scott has over 30 years’ experience as a senior executive in the hospitality industry. In 2010, Scott returned to his consulting practice, High Country Hospitality, which specializes in helping the hospitality and golf industries navigate the convergence of technology and marketing in today’s environment. He joined Cruise Inn as President and CEO in November, 2013 to assist in the launch of a new and exciting brand in the outdoor hospitality space which now has a network of 40 RV parks.

Ron Beard, Ron D Beard Consulting

For over 25 years, Ron has consulted on hundreds of RV projects across the entire country, up into Canada and even Alaska, both proposed and existing, from 15 to 1500 guest sites. Ron approaches all of his consulting from a global perspective of design, economics, funding, operations, and management, all focused on creating a potential “roadmap” to achieve ownership goals.

Sharon Beaumont

Sharon Beaumont is currently the Recreation Director and Lodge Director for Normandy Farms in Foxboro, MA. Her 20+ years of experience in the hospitality industry and her major in physical education at Bridgewater State University helped prepare her for her rapid promotion once joining the staff at Normandy Farms. Sharon has always been enthusiastic about sports; being recognized for he ability during high school and having coached and played intramural sports throughout her lifetime.


Robert Bouse CPO, OHE, Travel Resorts of America

Robert Bouse has a degree in Recreation Administration from Texas State University, and has managed campgrounds from 35 sites in size to 1,281 sites, and from California to Florida. He is one of the founding board members and instructors at the National School of RV Park and Campground Management and has served on the board of national arvc and FLARVC.

Larry Brownfield, CPO, OHE Kampgrounds of America, Inc.

After a career in organizational management and leadership, Larry became a fulltime RVer with his wife Carla in 2005. Larry joined the KOA team as a work camper in 2006, and in 2008 decided he would enjoy a more permanent position in the industry. He is now the Director of Franchise Development for KOA and is responsible for property acquisition, working with independent campgrounds in the KOA conversion process, and franchise sales.

Jim Button OHE, Evergreen Campsites & Resort

Jim purchased Evergreen Campsites & Resort from his parents in 1996. Since purchasing the park, he has turned it into a destination resort. Jim has four children, one of which — Hannah — manages the resort.

Byron Carroll, Consulting Retreats and Carrollwoods Campgrounds at Grapefull Sisters Vineyard

Byron is a certified trainer who has led team building retreats for Michelin Tire, Pepsi Co., Lincoln Hospital Centers, Samaritan’s Purse, and other organizations. He also teaches leadership training for many chambers of commerce.

Saundra Bryn, CPO, OHC

Saundra Bryn, CPO, OHC is the Managing Partner for Desert’s Edge RV – The Purple Park in Phoenix, AZ. She has her Doctorate in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) as well as her Master’s in Education (Administration) from Northern Arizona University. After serving 35 years in public education, Saundra turned her efforts towards their park in Arizona. Since taking over the park operations and learning much from others about the industry, Saundra was able to successfully change their parks target market, perform massive physical changes in the park, and accomplish a major increase in net operating income. As the current Chair of the ARVC Foundation Education Committee, she has been instrumental in the development of the Outdoor Hospitality Education Program and the expansion of the National School of RV Park and Campground Management.

Michael Cross, Amazon Camperforce

Michael has a broad range of experience in the work camping world, beginning with the six years he and his wife spent as work campers themselves. He then took a position administering the work camper program at an Amazon Fulfillment Center where he hired more than 300 work campers a year and achieved a 50 percent return rate. After two years in this position, Michael moved to Amazon’s corporate offices and is now the program manager for Camperforce.

Vicki Cole, CPO, OHE

Vicki Cole, CPO, OHE and her husband Garry are 2nd generation campground owners, having purchased Gary’s parent’s park in 1990. Their park, Shelby/Mansfield KOA (formerly known as the Wagon Wheel Campground), was started in the late 60’s and therefore when they took it over, they faced the challenge of major infrastructure improvements, which they continue working on today. The park has just over 200 sites which accommodate seasonal guests, destination campers, and overnighters.

Vicki currently serves on the ARVC Foundation Board and KOA Owners Association, after having been the chairman of both organization. She is very active with the Ohio Campground Owners Association, service as their Past President.

Jayne Cohen has gained over 40+ years of campground and customer service experience by owning a successful family camping resort in New Hampshire to overseeing 10 camping resorts for a multi park organization to assisting hundreds of campground and lodging clients with customer service, review management, operations, recruitment, family business planning, marketing and branding. Jayne uses her skills and experience to assist clients with improving their revenue and profits by creating better guest experiences and developing systems, procedures and strategic plans to help them achieve their financial goals.

Betsy Cvetic, Gemstone Ventures

With a background is in software development and engineering management, Elizabeth has managed projects of all sizes and has experience in every aspect of the software development cycle, from understanding product requirements, development and testing to support of the finished product in the field. Fifteen years ago, she set up shop as “Gemstone Ventures.” The name comes from her son Brendan, who, when he was eight years old, pointed out how much she likes “BSOs” (Bright Shiny Objects).

Annis Howard Davis

Annis Howard Davis hold a Master’s Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and has 25 years of experience in the design, delivery, and evaluation of training and development programs. She founded her own training and development company in 1991 where she specializes in creating effective teams through assertive communication techniques, developing and implementing Performance Management Systems – a fancy term for holding people accountable for doing what they are paid to do without reminders.

Known for her DYNAMIC, INTERACTIVE and CREATIVE presentation style, Annis has built her career on helping her participants grow in their skills both personally and professionally.

Tracie Fisher, CPO, OHC

Tracie Fisher, CPO, OHC is the current Chair for the Board of Regents at the National School of RV Park and Campground Management. She is the owner of Tate Fisher Marketing & SEO and creator of Campground Manager Today.

Her specialties are search engine optimization, social media & reputation management, and affiliate marketing; all of which are built on strategies for taking the reins and building an intentional online presence in spite of the search engines’ shifting algorithms. Tracie considers this to be a search engine chess match with Google and enjoys the challenge from her worthy opponent. She has been involved in the campground management industry since 2004 through her work as former office manager of a large campground in Michigan and previous Executive Director of ARVC Michigan.


Deirdre Deputy, CPO, OHG, Sun-N-Fun RV Resort

Working at Sun-N-Fun for 16 years in a variety of roles, Deirdre helped build the Winter Lifestyle/activities program to over 160 different activities per week. The Sun-N-Fun program became so successful that it was instituted company wide, including Canada and the UK. By introducing 15 theme weekends, group events and a kids day camp, they increased the summer revenue for Sun-N-Fun over one million dollars. When Sun-N-Fun became part of Carefree Communities, Deirdre was asked to lead a team to grow their RV parks’ current activity program.

Dr. Chad M. Gruhl, Metropolitan State University of Denver

Dr. Gruhl is a Full Professor and has been at Metropolitan State University of Denver since 2006. He was the Chair for the Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center Task Force at Metro State and oversaw the building of the Marriott SpringHill Suites and 18,000 sq. ft. Hospitality Learning Center. He was the Associate Chair from 2009-2012 and Chair from 2012-2014. Before joining the Hospitality, Tourism, and Events Management Department at Metro State, Dr. Gruhl was a Professor at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia from 1998-2006.

Peter Hagen, Pride of America Camping Resort

A full time IT professional at the University of Wisconsin for over 15 years, Peter has “grown up” with the implementation of technology in the camping industry — his family has owned Pride of America Camping Resort (POA) for 40 years. In addition to supporting third party applications, Peter has developed several custom applications. He has a broad range of expertise in hardware, software, and networking as well as in TV and audio distribution.

Nate Herman, Herman Brothers Lake Management and Giant Goose Ranch Campground

Nate draws upon his deep passion for fish to help manage thousands of acres of private water. He also specializes in consulting across the country and is a co-host of the TV show Lake Life on the DIY Network. He is also a co-owner of Giant Goose Ranch Campground.

Chris Hipple, Leavitt Recreation and Hospitality Insurance

Chris Hipple has been a commercial insurance producer specializing in the recreation and outdoor hospitality fields for 23 years. He has served as vice president with Leavitt Recreation and Hospitality as managing Vice President since 2010 and is a Certified Insurance Counselor.

Ellen Howe, JLM Energy

Ellen comes to JLM with three decades of experience. As a senior spokesperson at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, VP of business development at Vidsys and L-3 Security, she has honed her communication skills on complex subjects such as technology, energy, security, global leadership, natural resources, and risk management. These experiences made her acutely aware of the need for resiliency in the nation’s energy supply and a diverse energy portfolio.

Al Johnson CPO, OHC

In addition to operating his own campground, Mount Rushmore KOA in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Al is the Executive Vice President of Recreational Adventures Co. where he oversees the operation of 13 campgrounds in 11 states. This gives him a unique perspective in the camping industry: dealing with zoning and regulatory officials in 10 different state and local jurisdictions. Al also serves the industry on the national level as the Chair of the arvc Public Affairs Committee

Mark Koep,

Mark is the founder and owner of a company that helps campers “Look where you’re going!” by offering videos of over 2,300 campgrounds and RV parks. He previously ran the largest boutique local SEO company in the U.S. and helped thousands of small businesses rank better and be more easily found on search engines. He speaks at seminars and workshops to help small business owners grow their businesses via digital means.

Eileen Korte, Motion Picture Licensing Corporation

As Vice President of the licensing division for the U.S. division of her company, Eileen has worked with facilities ranging from federal government agencies and multi-national corporations to libraries and health care facilities to ensure comprehensive copyright compliance. Mike Lysakowski, Motorsport Aspects Limited

Mike started his own business at age 17, serving the needs of the professional auto racing industry. His publishing company held contracts with clients such as NASCAR and the United States Auto Club. As a public relations specialist, he has more than 15 years of experience on both sides of “the press release fence” and has developed and executed strategic corporate media relations campaigns and created media kits for his clients.

Bob MacKinnon, CPO, GuestReviews

Bob is a Lifetime Certified Park Operator and nationally recognized expert in the RV park and campground industry. Since retiring after a 30-year career with the Walt Disney Company, Bob has consulted on more than 350 public and private projects throughout the country. His company, GuestReviews, provides guest satisfaction surveys for 4,000 parks nationwide.

Laura Miller, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension

A sixth-generation Texan, Laura is the Texas A&M AgriLife Commercial Horticulture Extension Agent for Tarrant Country. She provides educational programs and problem-solving services to anyone who is trying to make money in horticulture, from green industry professionals to fruit, vegetable, and ornamental plant growers. She is also a Texas Certified Nursery Professional.

Joe Moore, CPO, OHC, Moore’s Campground Consulting

Joe is President of Moore’s Campground Consulting, established in 2014. Drawing on more than 40 years of service in the municipal parks and recreation industry, Joe uses his experience, talents, skills and resources to assess, direct, recommend, educate and encourage campgrounds/parks to be the best they can be. He is a graduate of the National School of RV Park and Campground Management and has a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry/Recreation.

Gerry is the founder of What Big Brands Know and the creator of The Business Blueprint, a program for attracting new, profitable customers to your business. He began his marketing career at Procter & Gamble, then later managed Coors Light before serving as VP of marketing for both Quiznos and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers.

Peter Pelland, Pelland Advertising

Peter is the CEO of his Massachusetts-based company that he founded in 1980 at the age of 27. He was brought up in a small business environment, so it was almost inevitable that his own business would be dedicated to serving the needs of other small businesses, particularly those in the outdoor recreation industry. He has become one of the leading developers of responsive websites and producers of four-color collateral advertising within the family camping industry, with clients from coast to coast.

Damian Petty, Leavitt Recreation and Hospitality Insurance

Damien has been in the business of insuring campgrounds and RV parks for 18 years. He also has eight years of risk management experience and teaches risk management courses for the ARVC Foundation. Damien also works with KOA, giving classes for potential new owners looking to get into the RV park industry.

Hannah Piper, Evergreen Campsites & Resort

Hannah, as Jim’s daughter, started working at Evergreen Campsites & Resort, a family business, at the age of 14. She started out at the slide and worked her way up to be Jim’s full-time manager.

Lindsay Richardson, Play & Park Structures, A PlayCore Company

Lindsay Richardson is the Senior Vice President and Group Manager for the Specialty Play Group at PlayCore. She has an MA in Marketing and over fourteen years of experience with PlayCore. Lindsay is knowledgeable in the playground industry and program development, and has ample experience presenting at state and regional conferences on various topics, including the value of play, inclusive play, playground design, playground inclusion, bringing curriculum outdoors, and designing naturalized play environments.

Lori Severson, Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners

Lori is a training consultant who owns Severson & Associates and serves as Executive Director of the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners (WACO). She also owns Champions Riverside Resort. Lori applies her passion for success and management excellence to inspire, challenge and encourage others to take action to achieve continuous improvement in themselves and their organizations. Using the knowledge she has gained by working with campgrounds in multiple states, she shares ideas that park owners can apply immediately.

Jeff Sims, CPO, OHC, arvc

As arvc’s Senior Director of State Relations and Program Advocacy, Jeff monitors proposed federal and state legislation and regulations on a daily basis to provide actionable intelligence to the arvc Public Affairs Committee, state associations and members. A longtime industry veteran, Jeff has served in multiple capacities at the state and national levels and has been the recipient of arvc’s highest honor, the Stan Martin Memorial Award.

Darrell Sisk, CPO, OHC, Pismo Coast Village RV Resort

When Wi-Fi began moving into the RV park world in around 2002, Pismo Coast Village RV Resort chose to create its own network and Darrell has been the park’s administrator since day one. While researching and learning about the ever-changing advancements and challenges of Wi-Fi, he has gained valuable knowledge that he shares with fellow park operators. He believes that every operator should know enough to at least understand the inherent limitations of the technology and to be able to have an educated discussion with their current or prospective vendors about those challenges.

Gina grew up in the hospitality and attraction industries from her first job in a Chicago bakery at a young age. To pay her way through college, she worked in many restaurants as a server, hostess, or bartender and then graduated to working in hotel restaurants, banquets and room service. After graduating from DePaul University, her career path took her through attraction marketing and operations. Service is paramount in her opinion, and along with experience, she brings common sense, real world thinking, and a sassy attitude to help people and organizations become more successful.

Ron Vitkun, Leisure Systems, Inc.

Prior to joining Leisure Systems Inc. in 2015 as Director of Franchise Sales and Development, Ron and his wife Vicki owned a Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Maryland for 18 years. Ron has also been a regent and instructor at the National School of RV Park and Campground Management and served as Vice President of the Maryland Association of Campgrounds.

Michelle Wilcox, CPO, and Tim Wilcox, CPO, OHC, Gateway Park Campground

Tim and Michelle own and operate a 100-site, full hookup RV park that has been in their family for 26 years. Their all-inclusive campground provides activities every weekend at no additional cost to their guests. Their goal is to help families make some of the same happy memories that they made when they camped as children so that their guests will return time after time.

Amy Wirtz, C.E.P.A., Family and Business Success, LLC

Amy is passionate about preserving small businesses in America. Her grandparents owned a two-generation business and she grew up surrounded by the wonderfully complex issues family businesses present. She has been a practicing attorney for 24 years and believes in peaceful resolutions to complex issues. She has been a faculty member at the Exit Planning Institute since 2014 and she helps owners begin the process of identifying how to plan for and implement a transition of their business as a way to create a family legacy.

Barb Youmans, MBA, arvc/ARVC Foundation

Barb is the Senior Director of Education for arvc, as well as the Executive Director for the ARVC Foundation. She received her Bachelors of Education in 1980 and believes that learning should be a life-long endeavor. She studied Instructional Design at the University of Colorado-Denver and earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Colorado Christian University. When she joined arvc, she worked at member parks her first two summers to learn more about the industry.
