Are you looking for a way to get more involved in the outdoor hospitality industry so you can have an even greater impact? Here’s your chance! Nominations are being accepted from May 23 through July 7 to fill six open positions on the ARVC Board of Directors, one for each of the six ARVC voting areas indicated on the map below:
The individuals elected will serve a three-year term on the ARVC Board of Directors beginning on November 9, 2020. To qualify to be nominated, you must meet the following criteria:
· Have at least two years’ experience as an RV park or campground owner/operator;
· Serve as the designated representative of a voting member campground/RV park that is in good standing with ARVC;
· Be willing to give priority to participating in ARVC board meetings and the Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo; and
· Have your CPO/OHEP certificate or be actively enrolled in the Outdoor Hospitality Education Program.
It’s also recommended, but not required, that you participate in local, regional or state tourism councils, have experience in fundraising and possess the ability and willingness to represent ARVC at state meetings.
While there are open positions in each of the six ARVC voting areas, nominees cannot be from Alabama, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey or Ohio. The ARVC bylaws require that all representatives come from different states, and there are currently representatives serving terms in these states.
You will need to provide three documents as part of the nominating process: a biography outlining your abilities and industry involvement, a form with 15 certifiable signatures from ARVC members from your voting area, and a letter outlining the reasons you wish to serve on the ARVC Board of Directors.
The nominees who are elected to fill these open positions will serve a vital role, not only within ARVC, but in the industry as a whole. Serving on the ARVC board is an excellent way to make your voice heard.
