If you registered for ARVC’s virtual Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE2020) on November 2-5, you had access to a wealth of knowledge through more than 25 educational sessions along with Takeaway Tours of ARVC member-parks, the popular Reservations Systems Panel, the informative general sessions and the inspirational keynote address by bestselling author Gretchen Rubin on how to be resilient in the age of COVID. ARVC 20 Group IV made a recent donation to the ARVC Foundationto create an annual scholarship that will cover the full cost of attendance for one individual at the National School of RV Park and Campground Management. The donation was announced virtually during ARVC’s annual Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo (OHCE) earlier this month. 

The 2020 Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo (OHCE) was moved to a virtual event, but that didn’t stop the event from remaining one of the premier attractions on the outdoor industry calendar. The virtual OHCE2020 attracted attendees from more campgrounds than last year’s OHCE2019 in Knoxville, Tenn.which set a modern attendance record for the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds’ (ARVC) annual conference. 

The 2020 Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo (OHCE), the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds’ (ARVC) annual conference, went out with a bang on Thursday, with the virtual Expo taking center stage. Attendees and vendors were able to replicate the feel of the virtual expo and the ability to interact one-on-one that makes the in-person expo a yearly highlight.

Resiliency was the central theme on the third day at the virtual 2020 Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo (OHCE), the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds’ (ARVC) annual conference. The message was voiced by Keynote Speaker Gretchen Rubin and several winners of ARVC’s Awards of Excellence, who shared advice and stories about overcoming adversity after a challenging 2020 during another busy day at OHCE2020.

The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) named this year’s best parks at the 2020 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE), held November 2-5 as a virtual conference. The Park of the Year Awards are a signature part of ARVC’s Awards of Excellence, which are presented annually to the standout parks and individuals in the outdoor hospitality industry.

The second day of the 2020 Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo (OHCE) was highlighted by a tour of campgrounds across the country during the Opening General Session, the always-popular Reservation Management Panel and the first two education sessions of the week. It was a busy day, with the conference attracting more than 5,085 visits from 543 unique visitors to the virtual site so far during the first two days of National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds’ (ARVC) annual conference. 

The 2020 Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo (OHCE) opened online yesterday, with more than 750 attendees registered for the first day of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds’ (ARVC) annual conference. The opening day saw large crowds logging in to the virtual platform for virtual Takeaway Tours of three ARVC-member parks and the debut of ARVC’s new Hosted Buyer Program, which matched pre-approved OHCE attendees with exhibitors for meetings, replicating the true one-on-one nature of the expo floor.

On June 4, the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) hosted its first workshop specifically designed for prospective campground owners. The online format of the one-day Prospective Owners Workshop (POW) made it easy for participants across the country to tap into the knowledge of industry experts on a wide range of topics and acquire valuable information they can use as they move forward in their planning process. 

The NFPA 1194 Completion Certificate program is designed to ensure that park owners and operators have in-depth knowledge of the current standards for the design and construction of RV parks and campgrounds as outlined by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA). The course also examines the elements of the NFPA 1194 standard that cover public safety, electrical, facilities, fire protection and water and sanitation.

Now, for the first time, the course is available in an online format to enable learners to complete the course on their own schedule and at their own pace at any time. The NFPA 1194 Completion Certificate course was previously offered only in person each year at the Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo (OHCE) in November.

The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) and the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable have successfully led an effort to get Paycheck Payment Program (PPP) loans extended to accommodate seasonal businesses.

This latest rule, issued by the U.S. Treasury, is big news for seasonal RV parks and campgrounds which may not have had active payroll during the base period stipulated by the original PPP loan criteria, which required the business to have been in operation by February 15, 2020.
