DATES TO PUT ON YOUR CAMPGROUND CALENDAR THIS YEAR

There’s nothing that brings people together like a good celebration. In fact, in this country, we’ll celebrate just about anything! For example, did you know that January 11th is National Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day? While you may not want to celebrate that occasion at your campground, there are plenty of other “national days” that you can put on your campground calendar and celebrate with your guests. Here are a few ideas:

23 – Re-Gifting Day

Think about all of the different activities you can plan around these themes. For Galentine’s Day on February 13, you could promote your park as the ideal gals getaway and plan some fun activities like candle pouring, flower pressing or wine tasting. Look Up at the Sky Day (April 14) would be a great time to bring in a local astronomer to do a stargazing presentation. On July 1, Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day, you could hold a contest to see who can come up with the craziest flavors and/or mix-ins. For Clean Up Day (September 12), you could round up a group of volunteers to clean up a local park or roadway or help elderly or disabled residents in the area who need yard work done. And to finish up the year, Re-Gifting Day (December 23) would be the perfect time to host a white elephant gift exchange for your guests and let the laughter begin.

There are so many ways to celebrate national days. The more fun you have planning these celebrations, the more fun your guests will have!
